On this date, October 29th, Margo was reading in the book of Acts 13:24--44 titled "Paul Preaches to the Jews of Antioch" and in Hebrews 12:12--17 titled "Commands for Christian Living".
Margo underlined several verses in Acts and one sentence in the commentary on them:
The apostle Paul speaking to the congregation at the synagogue in Antioch: "32:We tell you the good news: What God promised our fathers 33: he has fulfilled for us, their children, by raising up Jesus. As it is written in the second Psalm:
"'You are my Son;
today I have become your Father.'
34:The fact that God raised him from the dead, never to decay, is stated in these words:
"'I will give you the holy and sure blessings promised to David.'
35:So it is stated elsewhere:
"'You will not let your Holy One see decay.'..."
Here's the commentary she underlined:
"...This is the essence of the Good News--that forgiveness of sins and freedom from guilt are available to all people through faith in Christ--including you."
