Margo's Bible Verses, October 28th

On this date, October 28th, Margo was reading in the book of Acts 13:13--23 titled "A Trip to Antioch of Pisidia" and in Hebrews 12:5--11 titled "God Disciplines His Children".

Margo didn't underline any of the verses in the passage in the book of Acts but she did underline a couple sentences in the commentary. I'll have to provide some context, however.

Paul and Barnabas had traveled to several cities and preached the good news of our Saviour Jesus in many synagogues on their missionary trips. But many of the Jewish members of the synagogues where they preached refused to believe Jesus was their much longed for Messiah. This also happened in Psidian Antioch. These Jewish congregates were looking for a different kind of Messiah.

Here's what Margo underlined:
"He was not a military king who would overthrow Rome's control, but a servant king who would overthrow sin in people's hearts."

These are the verses Margo underlined in Hebrews:
"7:Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son is not disciplined by his father? 8: If you are not disciplined (and everyone undergoes discipline), then you are illegitimate children and not true sons."

"...think on these things."
