Margo's Bible Verses January 9th

On this date, January 9th Margo was reading in the book of Matthew 5:1-16 titled "The Sermon on the Mount--the Beatitudes" and in Romans 3:21-31 titled "Salvation Through Faith".

This is the verse Margo underlined in the passage in Matthew, Jesus speaking:

"...16:In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven."

Margo underlined this sentence in the commentary on the passage in Matthew:

"...Position, authority, and money are not important in his kingdom--what matters is faithful obedience from the heart."

Here's the verse Margo underlined in the passage in Romans, the apostle Paul writing:

"...23:for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."

These are the sentences Margo underlined in the commentary on the passage in Romans:

"...There is a way to be declared not guilty--by trusting Jesus Christ to take away our sins. Trusting means putting our confidence in him to forgive our sins, to make us right with God, and to empower us to live the way he wants us to live. This is God's solution, and it is available to all of us regardless of our background or past behavior."
