On this date, November 29th Margo was reading in the book of Acts 27:1-15 titled "Paul Begins His Voyage to Rome" and in I Peter 3:17--22 titled "Do Good Even When You Suffer for It".
Margo didn't underline any of the verses in the passage in Acts. However, she underlined the following verses in the passage in I Peter, the apostle Peter speaking:
"18:For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive by the Spirit,...20:who disobeyed long ago when God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ark was being built. In it only a few people, eight in all, were saved through water, 21:and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also—not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a good conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ, 22:who has gone into heaven and is at God's right hand—with angels, authorities and powers in submission to him."
Here's what she underlined in the commentary on I Peter:
"If we suffer for wrongdoing we should humbly endure it as just punishment. When we suffer for doing what is right, then we are given the opportunity to suffer as Christ suffered. Since Jesus suffered injustice, his followers should expect to suffer injustice as well. It is a privilege to suffer for Christ, even though it is not at all a pleasant experience.(double underlined) Let us keep our conduct above criticism, so that when we do suffer, out suffering can be a testimony to those around us."
